I am a visual artist living and working on Vancouver Island, Canada. I have a keen interest in a variety of media including sculpture, painting, collage, and mixed media. My practice involves several distinct modes of working that almost always utilize a strong design sensibility. I have been creating things since I was a toddler, and am fortunate to continue my creative musings with the curiosity of a child. My work often involves humour, nostalgia, and elements of kitsch and popular culture. I am often drawn to aspects of DIY culture from the mid 20th century, and source inspiration from old magazines like Popular Mechanics. I have exhibited in artist run centres and galleries across Canada, and have completed several larger temporary works in the public realm. I also really like to make small things. I have a passion for a large variety of materials, and love discovering the nature of them; how can I manipulate them in unusual and innovative ways? I am constantly striving to make unique objects that spark my curiosity and intrigue those that encounter them…
